Nested between two hospitality landmarks — The Halekulani and The Royal Hawaiian — the 31-floor Sheraton Waikīkī has been known as the “piko” ever since it opened in 1971. with the completion of the renovation, it has become a symbol of today’s Waikīkī featuring an adults-only infinity pool, kids pool with a slide, award-winning restaurants and the largest hotel ballroom in Waikīkī .
DESCRIPTION
The Sheraton Waikīkī is located at the edge of Waikīkī Beach in Honolulu. It shares a 14 acre oceanfront property with the Royal Hawaiian Hotel. The 31 story structure provides 360 degrees of commanding views of Honolulu including recognizable landmarks such as Waikīkī Beach, the Royal Hawaiian Hotel, and Diamond Head.
The goals and objectives of the redevelopment sought to enhance the Sense of Arrival, to create opportunities for the Interplay of Interior & Exterior Environments, and to Freshen the Food & Beverage services. These goals prompted the redesign of the existing hotel’s arrival, reception and front desk area, retail corridors, restaurants, and 2 swimming pools. To enhance the property’s sense of arrival, a renovated porte cochere welcomes guests with a soothing water feature surrounded by updated landscape traffic island. Guests are greeted by a widened retail corridor updated with modern finishes and improved lighting to help create a welcoming experience. Cultural programming allows for art treasures by local artisans to be featured throughout the lobby and 2nd levels. The jewel of the project was the infinity edge pool overlooking Diamond Head.
