The Andaz brand brings the local arts, culture and food to their properties and Andaz Maui is no exception. Andaz Maui at Wailea has a very authentic feel to it and truly makes you feel like you are in Hawaii the way the resort is perched to overlook the ocean.
DESCRIPTION
The Andaz Maui at Wailea project is a complete renovation of the old Renaissance Hotel which sat vacant for a number of years. The renovation, a product of a joint venture between Hyatt Hotels and Starwood Capital Group, was started at the end of 2011 and completed in 2014.
The first beach resort for Hyatt’s Andaz brand of luxury hotels, the design is a clean, crisp, modern interpretation of beach front casual. The design team imagined the resort as a lavish beach house welcoming guests as friends. Check-in happens throughout the modern lobby seating sandbox area with ipads.
The guestrooms with white painted wood and stone tile throughout feature large showers with sliding plantation shutters that opens the shower to the guest room and views beyond. An incredible wood spiral grand staircase was fabricated in New York, disassembled, shipped and then reassembled on site. Renovation includes new spa, food & beverage, meeting rooms, retail outlets and the extensive five-pool complex that terraces to the ocean.
